Mistakes to Avoid in Product Presentation

1. Too much information in the presentation slide

One common mistake in product presentations is placing too much information on a slide. Too much information on a slide gives consumers the opportunity to read the slide instead of listening to your presentation.

2. Not using storytelling

Storytelling has been known as one of the most effective techniques in sales and marketing. Not delivering a product presentation in the form of a plot like a story is a mistake.

This is because the human brain tends to remember things more easily in the form of stories than in the form of separate pieces of information.

3. Does not explain product prospects

Another mistake in the presentation is not explaining the prospects of the product being offered. Even though you have used storytelling techniques, your presentation may fail if consumers don't understand the prospects and benefits they will get when using your product. Help your customers imagine themselves living an exciting future with your offerings. If they can imagine themselves using the product you offer, they will be interested in buying and using your product.

4. Not using attractive presentation visuals

Even though you have used short and dense presentation slides, an unattractive visual presentation can reduce consumer interest. This could be a mistake in presenting the product. Use images, infographics, and even bold fonts to highlight important information in your presentation. If you use data as part of a presentation, make the data stand out with attractive visualizations.

5. Exaggerating information during presentations

Exaggerating or even fabricating information is a fatal mistake according to LinkedIn. Doing this will only make you lose credibility and consumer confidence. Use real life examples, quotes, stories and testimonials. These things are very important to make your presentation come alive, and persuade people to use the product you offer. Make sure that the stories you use are specific and relevant to your consumer's situation.
