Diffusers are becoming a trend with the use of aromatherapy. However, it is better if you identify the type and use of the diffuser before buying it. This is done so that you don't choose the wrong choice and can get the maximum benefit from the aromatherapy used.
A diffuser is a tool that functions to convert essential oils into fragrant vapor or aromatherapy and spread it in the air, making it easier to inhale. The use of a diffuser in the room can create a comfortable atmosphere. Therefore, this tool is often used to calm the mind and reduce stress.
Types of Diffusers
There are various types of diffusers that can be used with essential oils for aromatherapy, including:
1. Candle diffuser (candle diffuser)
Candle diffusers are the most traditional type of diffuser that are easy to find and can be quite affordable. This type of diffuser uses heat to produce aromatherapy vapor.
2.Ceramic diffuser (ceramic diffuser)
As the name implies, this diffuser is made of ceramic or clay. Unlike the type of candle diffuser that utilizes heat, ceramic diffusers make use of ultrasonic sound waves to convert essential oil fluids into aromatherapy vapor.
3. Reed diffuser
A reed diffuser is usually sold as a package with an aromatherapy oil bottle. This type of diffuser is unique because it does not take advantage of heat or electricity, but uses rattan sticks.
4. Electric diffuser
Similar to ceramic diffuser and reed diffuser, electric diffuser does not use heat energy.
5. Nebulizer diffuser
A diffuser nebulizer works by breaking down essential oils into small molecules before spreading them into the room. This device has a cylindrical glass bottle in the middle so it looks elegant.
6. Ultrasonic diffuser
The ultrasonic diffuser works by producing a fine mist so that it is easily released into the air. This type of diffuser also functions to humidify dry room air.
It is important to remember that diffusers have not been shown to be safe or effective as a method of vaporizing an antiseptic solution to sterilize air. This actually risks causing side effects, such as irritation to the respiratory tract and eyes.
The use of diffusers has so far only been useful for optimizing the benefits of essential oils. The scattered aroma stimulates the sense of smell and affects the emotions and nervous system. However, this depends on the type of aromatherapy used.
To stay safe, use a diffuser according to the instructions for use and clean it after use. Limit the use of the diffuser so that it is not too long, which is about 30-60 minutes. When using a diffuser, make sure that the room where the diffuser is used is well ventilated.
