Based on the weather report from BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency), Indonesia is currently experiencing hot and scorching weather, which is believed to be caused by a relatively dry lower atmospheric layer. Therefore, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia urges the public to pay attention to their health to prevent various diseases caused by the increase in air temperature. Here are some ways you can maintain your health during hot weather:

  1. Stay Hydrated
    Hot weather can cause the body to become dehydrated more quickly. It is highly recommended to drink 2-3 liters of water per day or consume fruits with high water content to keep your body hydrated even in hot weather.

  2. Use Sunscreen
    In addition to taking care of your health from the inside, it is important to protect your skin from the outside. By using sunscreen, you can protect your skin from the harmful UV rays that can cause sunburn and premature aging.

  3. Wear Covered
    Clothing Even if you are using sunscreen, it is advisable to wear covered clothing to provide extra protection to your skin. Additionally, you can also wear a hat and sunglasses to protect your eyes and facial skin from sun exposure.

  4. Eat Light Snacks More Often
    Hot weather can decrease appetite. To keep your body energized during activities, try choosing protein-rich snacks such as yogurt, sunflower seeds, hazelnuts, walnuts, or cashews.

  5. Reduce Sun Exposure Duration
    If possible, it is better to perform activities indoors. If you need to be outdoors, seek shade under trees to reduce direct sun exposure.

    Exercise is an effective way to keep your body fit and healthy. However, in hot weather, some people may feel less motivated to exercise outdoors. To stay comfortable, consider exercising at a gym or indoors.
