Don't Be Careless, These 5 Foods Should Not Be Stored in Plastic Containers

Many people choose plastic containers because they are practical. But not all foods are safe to store in them. Some types can even trigger the transfer of chemicals from the plastic to the food, especially when heated. Here are five foods that should not be stored in plastic containers:

1. Hot or Newly Cooked Food
High temperatures can cause plastic chemicals to transfer to food. It's safer to wait until it cools down or use glass/stainless steel containers.

2. Oily Foods
Oil can "dissolve" certain substances in plastic. The result? Food can become contaminated without being noticed.

3. Acidic Foods (such as chili sauce, pickles, lemon, tomatoes)
The acidic nature accelerates chemical reactions with plastic, altering its aroma and potentially reducing the quality of the food.

4. Spicy Food
Thick and oily spicy seasonings can quickly dull plastic and increase the risk of chemical migration.

5. Strong-Smelling Foods (raw meat, fish)
In addition to easily causing plastic to absorb odors, bacteria also develop more quickly if the container is not completely sterile.

The conclusion is: Not all plastic containers are harmful, but not all are safe for certain conditions. Choose the right storage materials to keep food healthy and maintain its quality.
